The Sharing Network Foundation supports the work of NJ Sharing Network, the non-profit organization responsible for the recovery and placement of donated organs and tissue for the nearly 4,000 New Jersey residents currently awaiting transplantation.

The Foundation is committed to increasing the number of lives saved through clinical advancement, family support, public awareness and education about the lifesaving benefits of organ and tissue donation and transplantation.

John Levine

Honoring Donor Hero

John Levine of North Haledon, NJ, was a loving family man, a loyal friend, and someone whose actions reflected a deep care for others. He was a devoted husband to Jacqueline, his wife of 25 years, and a proud father to Jennifer and Jesse. He passed away unexpectedly at the age of 54 in September 2014. In his final act of compassion, John became an organ donor, giving the gift of life to others and leaving a legacy that continues to inspire.
 
John’s impact extends far beyond his lifetime. He donated both of his kidneys, one of which went to Helen Hunter of Middlesex Borough, NJ. She had lived with polycystic kidney disease for many years. His lifesaving gift freed her from dialysis and gave her many more happy, healthy years with her family. In a rare and emotional meeting, Helen and her family connected with John’s wife and children — a bond that has remained strong for more than a decade.
